Election Central: What would be your top three priorities if you are elected or re-elected?

DeTurris: 1. Technology- In Carmel we need to be more proactive on getting technology into the hands of our Students. Laptops, tables and PC need to be a part of everyday learning.
Let use our technology savvy students to run a help desk during school time to educate other students, faculty, administration. This will also give our students ownership and life skills that will help become more productive members of society.
2. Grants- We need to help our teachers bring a more enriched learning experience to our students through untapped grant opportunities. Having a grant writer in the district would give an advantage to our students and open opportunities that were not there before.
3. Greener solutions- lets invest in solar panels and LED lighting in our schools. Lets engage our students by researching and implementing these types of solutions. Lets look at hybrid vehicles for the million miles a year our transportation provides to our Students.
We need to stop using so much paper and look into online textbooks. Lets provide some public access to computers and communicate to our community. Recycle- Reuse-- Renew.
