Election Central: Why are you running for office or seeking re-election?
Dakin: Scott is running for the Board of Education because he believes in supporting both the students and teachers to create a successful learning environment where students will be productive and challenged.
Election Central: What in your personal, civic or professional experience recommends your election or return to office?
Dakin: My education and experience as an Architect is a great asset to the Board of Education. While an Architect is a person who is licensed to protect the health, safety and welfare of a building’s inhabitants, we are also optimists; we take ideas and create something new.
Election Central: What would be your top three priorities if you are elected or re-elected?
Dakin: Three priorities if I am elected would include:
To create academic opportunities of remarkable scope and excellence.
To continue to make the Brewster School District a leader among school districts in New York State.
To partner with the facilities department to understand and address the district’s needs and concerns regarding its buildings and facilities.
